Dach+Holz 2026 in Cologne: Practical Applications in Focus – Great Conversations, Clear Use Cases

Dach+Holz International in Cologne is one of the key meeting points for timber construction, interior fit-out, and the timber trade—making it an ideal setting for direct, practical exchange around real material handling requirements. In 2026, the show was once again defined by strong visitor traffic and intense discussions. Our booth stayed busy throughout the event—exactly what we aim for: time and space for meaningful communication.

At Dach+Holz, Barbaric continued with a clear exhibition concept: fewer exhibits, more room for what truly matters. Successful projects rarely start on paper—they start in personal dialogue, when we look at the current process together, make challenges tangible, and derive concrete solution approaches. That’s the environment we wanted to create: open, comfortable, and focused on real applications.

In Cologne, our content focus was clearly on solid wood applications, especially in the context of timber construction, prefabricated housing, and the timber trade. In the automation area, we showcased selected solutions covering automatic parts handling, panel handling, and solid wood handling. Alongside representative exhibits and workpieces on display, large screens showed real customer applications. This combination enabled discussions at eye level: not abstract talk about “technology,” but concrete conversations about material flow, cycle times, interfaces, and how processes can be stabilized and made more economical—from storage and material provision to the reliable feeding of machines and production lines.

A particularly frequent topic was the feeding of CNC timber framing/beam processing systems and crosscut saws, as well as handling tasks around prefabricated wall production. How can components be moved safely? Where do bottlenecks occur? How can material provision be improved? Which steps make sense to automate, and where do targeted handling solutions deliver the biggest impact? These are the questions that define day-to-day production—and the trade fair is the right place to address them.

Another highlight was the exceptionally strong interest in mobile vacuum lifting solutions. The number of inquiries regarding flexible, battery-powered devices for mobile use was outstanding—especially for applications where workpieces move between changing stations or where handling tasks need to be solved efficiently without complex infrastructure. Many visitors used the opportunity to see our solutions live, compare operating concepts, and discuss specific use cases.

Most importantly—across all topics—were the real conversations. They not only show which challenges are currently most relevant in the market, but also provide valuable impulses for our own development. Because it’s not just visitors who take ideas home from a show—we take insights, requirements, and fresh perspectives with us as well, helping us continue to deliver practical, tailor-made solutions for our customers.

We would like to sincerely thank all visitors for their interest and the many open conversations at Dach+Holz International 2026 in Cologne. We look forward to taking the next steps together—from the first idea to a solution that truly performs in everyday operations.
